About Me

After more than 9 years in design and marketing, I have continuously found that my life experiences outside of the office continue to influnce and aide my work inside the office. When I have an assignment that pertains to items I may not be an expert in - such as building construction for example, I am able to utilize my hobby of home improvement to strengthen and expedite my understanding of the request and need. This helps me to create a solution that works for the assignment without needing to use valuable extra time gathering background information. Ultimately, this leads to successful projects in less time than most other designers require.

Other than my interest in home improvement, I have a wide variety of hobbies that I enjoy. Some of the regularly pursued ones include: music (drums / percussion), art (who would have thought), sports, and religion. Due to my hobbies and past life experiences, I can often be referred to as a 'jack of all trades'. While this may be true, I prefer to consider myself a 'connoisseur of information and learning'.

Currently, I live in the Twin Cities area of MN along with my wonderful wife and our 4 children. We have had several pets over the years (including a hedgehog and turtles), but currently only have a goldfish and cat.

My educational background (outside of high school) comes from Loras College in Dubuque, IA. While a student, I focused my studies on Integrated Visual Design -- receiving my B.A. in 2011 as well as a minor in Computer Information and Technology. Other activities included the school band(s), campus ministry, intramural sports and Knights of Columbus. After gradtuation, I worked at a small manufacturing company in Dubuque, IA called Smart Retract. There, I led the re-branding from The Creative Frontier to Smart Retract and helped launch two new websites while updating their current one.

Roughly a year later, a position that better fit my career goals opened up at an advertising firm in Freeport, IL called ABC Advertising Specialists, Inc. Here my interest in sports was useful as the main publications designed and printed were sports programs and posters for the local area High Schools.

My career then moved us to Beloit, WI where I started as an E-Commerce Web Developer and became a Marketing, Communications and Web Manager for the manufacturing company CannonBall. While there, one of my main tasks was a complete overhaul of the company literature and websites to coincide with a re-branding effort. Time found me seizing an opportunity in Chanhassen, MN to be the E-Commerce and IT Manager for a wholesale fashion company. After receiving my Certified Professional Project Manager Certificate (CPPM) I have since moved on to website and digital project management and am enjoying it immensely.

If you have any other questions about myself, my work, or would like to talk about having me create something for you, do not hesitate to contact me, I will do my best to get back to you in a reasonable time frame. Have a great day!
